Live performances of Sikhara have always been known for bizarre visual spectacle, interaction with the audience and a ritualistic atmosphere. Past tours have dealt with dark issues and elicited uncomfortable responses from audiences. 

  “Torture…Pain…Confess” is perhaps the most disturbing offering from Sikhara yet. The performance elements are deeply integrated with the music, themed upon torture techniques that haunt some of the modern world’s darkest corners. 

  Torture has been depicted in music and art in ways ranging from a brutal, metal approach, as an S&M fetish or in playful humor. “Torture…Pain…Confess” is devoid of political statement and has no attempt at creating something stylish. This is an exploration of the thought process of the humans who are inspired to create and inflict these practices. We are aware it takes place, but instead of keep it a secret, this performance puts torture onto a stage.
